The Post graduate program in Biotechnology offers students a broad foundation of general education with preparation for a career advanced study in subjects like Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Plant and Animal biotechnology & Bioinformatics.
The faculty emphasizes the quality instruction, minor research and creative activity; here the students and faculty use their expertise to build a strong foundation in this ever growing field of science.

Course Title: M.Sc Biotechnology – Semester Pattern with CBCS
Intake: 30 ( Based on AKNUCET Rank)
Course Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters) including 3 months project in the IVth Semester

Eligibility Criteria/Entry Requirements :

B.Sc., with any two of the following subjects: Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Env. Science, Human Genetics, Fisheries, Aquaculture and Mathematics, B.Sc (Vocational) with Food Science & Quality Control. B.Sc MLT with Biochemistry-Microbiology-Medical Lab Technology Optionals are eligible.
Mode of Admission:
Based on rank in Adikavi Nannaya University Common Entrance Test (AKNUCET).. Students are advised to check with the institution for the availability of Management Seats. regarding the fee particulars. Students from Other Universities are required to submit Migration Certificate during admission in the College.

Student Committees: All the M.Sc Previous Students are constituted into different committees to enable them learn the real lab maintenance.
Students are involved in publishing their own news letter called “BIO-NEWS” every month reporting the activities of the Department, updates in the field of Biotechnology & Employment news etc.
Student Attendance/Progress reports will be intimated to parents’ via Way2SMS to their mobile phones monthly.
Student Class Seminars and Minor Internal Research Projects were evaluated by PEERS and FACULTY.

Best Practices :
Students from (SC/ST/BC & EBC) were given online practising sessions on CSIR.

Students of Final year M.Sc have to submit and carry out minor internal research project in the department as a part of “Biotechnology Group-V Project”
